I finally got my copy of the current issue of Curvy magazine. It’s basically a collection of artworks and illustrations from all over the world, featuring around 100 female artists. it’s just great, the artworks are amazing and very inspiring. In this issue (no. 5), one of the featured artists is my nice friend and talented Caro Caro. Congratulations Caro, I’ve always been a fan of your art & vector style.
A tiny nice application I ran into today. It places a coffee cup in the top menu bar, where you can activate/deactivate Caffeine with a click and keeps the screen awake!. I really like the idea behind it and its cute name :). It’s gonna be helpful when running a quick presentation or to show a video on screen. Personally, I usually keep moving the mouse or clicking somewhere on screen while showing a design on my laptop to discuss with the lecturer, I’ll remember to use it next time :).
and the best of all, it’s free and Leopard ready.
I’ve just upgraded my Wordpress blog to the latest 2.5 version hooray !!, (to be honest, I don’t know what’s the difference :P). Anyway, It’s always good to keep your stuff up to date. I’ve been facing some problems with writing new posts, I hope this release fixed these issues.
The next thing I need, is to upgrade the style or at least the look of that banner :S. It’s nice simple at the moment but I just don’t feel like home here. soon.. hopefully..
This was a nice comedy weekend in Melbourne. me and my comedy companion Waleed went to see 3 of Melbourne Comedy Festival shows, the ones we thought were the best to see. Starting with the stand up comedian “Mark Watson” from the UK on Thursday the 11th of April, followed by “Rove McManus” on Friday who also has a nice weekly TV show here in Australia, and finishing with “Frank Woodly” show on Saturday. We had such a great time, thanks Waleed I really enjoyed all of them.
this is a poster I did for a project this semester. The subject was quite open, but you have to find an issue to build your idea on. I was struggling at first to find a good concept. Anyway, I ended up with this one, the teacher liked it and I’m satisfied with it as well.
I went to ”mag nation” the other day, one of my favourite spots here in Melbourne. It’s basically a shop full of magazines or “the land of magazines” as they call themselves :). You’re welcome to sit and browse as many magazines as you want, take as much time as you need and of course purchasing magazines. They sell coffee as well, so you can enjoy reading and drinking coffee and spend more time there. It’s really great idea and they profit from both magazines and coffee. Anyway, I went to buy a cup of coffee when the lady over there said: here.. roll the dice & if you get an even number your coffee is for free :). I did it, and I got “6″.. cool.. I felt really lucky that day (which is something not usual for me :P or is it ?!).
